The Los Angeles Times reports that the Senate subcommitte couldn’t find any evidence that the billions of dollars spent on fighting the war on drugs was actually reducing the amount of illegal narcotics that found their way into the United States
The 10 billion the federal government spent on the Drug War last year would be handy to have right now.

And so that’s what the Patriot Act really does. It increases paranoia, makes people afraid, and promotes racism. The stark reality is that we live in a country where a small business person has to worry about the government listening in on their phone calls, and digging into their finances for doing nothing more than making a website.
